Assistive Software

Help with dyslexia and visual impairments

Libraries across all campuses have a range of assistive software to support students with dyslexia. Please ask your Library ICT Advisor for help accessing and using this software. The Library has all or some of the following software:

  • Mindview (Mind mapping software)
  • QuickScan (to identify dyslexia)
  • Texthelp Read & Write Gold  (spell checking text to speech software)
  • Zoomtext (magnifying software)
  • Dragon Naturally Speaking 8 (speech recognition software)
  • JAWS (Job Access With Speech) Screen Reader
  • Scanner with OCR software

Guides to some of these software applications are available as handouts from the Library desk. There is also a height adjustable table and chair. Wrist rests and other special equipment can be borrowed from the Library desk.
