Careers and Professional Practice

The Careers and Professional Practice team’s mission is to support, develop and prepare UCA students and graduates for future employment, further study, lifelong learning and a sustainable creative life.

Careers and Professional Practice

The Careers & Professional Practice team is here to support you even after you graduate!

On LinkedIn make sure you join the University for the Creative Arts Alumni Network where we regularly post graduate jobs and opportunities.

Graduate Outcomes Survey

The Graduate Outcomes survey (GOS) is a national survey of everyone who has recently finished their higher education studies at any university or HE college in the UK.

What we do for students and alumni

  • Careers appointments

We offer you one-to-one support based on individual need.

We help you find jobs and internships, advise on all aspects of job applications and give guidance on career routes. Our aim is to make you clearer about your career path and to help you be successful whatever route you embark on.

Use your student email to create your free Creative Futures account. You can book an appointment with a Careers Advisor via the Appointments tab.

Please contact the Gateway at your UCA campus for assistance or drop an email to careers@uca.ac.uk.

  • Lectures, workshops and events

We run sessions throughout the year to help manage all aspects of your career journey. Specialist events also bring relevant employers, agencies and professional experts to share tips, opportunities and words of wisdom.

  • Job vacancies

Our vacancy service caters for UCA students and our alumni with focus on the creative industries. We also have work experience opportunities and paid jobs across art, design, media and performance. Head over to our careers platform Creative Futures to find out about work experience positions, paid job vacancies, and information about working in the creative sector.

  • Career resources

Further career resources are provided on the Creative Futures careers portal. On Job Teaser, we have selected specialist links and advice to help navigate your career path.

Each UCA campus Library has an easily accessible collection of books and other printed material relating to career development and employability.

  • Work with your course

We work together with your course staff to provide workshops, lectures and seminars tailored to your course as part of your timetable.

  • Work with employers

We work with employers and industry bodies to share information, advertise competitions and opportunities, and collaborate for mutual benefit.
