Spend summer 2026 creating, exploring, and collaborating in China

The ICI Summer Workshop at Xiamen University offers an intensive, interdisciplinary experience for creative students from around the world, running from late June to mid‑July 2026 on the stunning coastal Zhangzhou campus.

Taught by internationally recognised designers, artists, and researchers, these hands‑on workshops break down disciplinary boundaries across art, design, media, performance, sound, technology, and critical theory. You’ll work in small groups, engage in lectures and exhibitions, and develop a final project showcased in a curated group exhibition, leaving with a strong portfolio piece and attendance certificate.

Beyond the studio, immerse yourself in Chinese culture through calligraphy, tea ceremonies, local cuisine, and trips to UNESCO sites, beaches, and historic cities. Collaborate with students and staff from across the globe, build lasting friendships, and gain a truly international creative perspective.

This is a unique opportunity to challenge your thinking, expand your practice, and experience creativity in a global context.

The ICI (Institute of Creativity and Innovation) was established in 2019 with the joint partnership between Xiamen University (XMU), China and UCA.
