The National Student Survey

The National Student Survey (NSS) 2024 launches at UCA on Thursday 1 February 2024 and closes on 30 April 2024. The survey is for eligible final year undergraduates.

What is the NSS?

The NSS is the largest annual survey aimed at eligible final year undergraduates in the UK.

The survey provides you with the opportunity to give your opinion on what you liked about your course as well as things that you feel could be further improved for future cohorts.

The survey is run by Ipsos, an independent market research agency, on behalf of the Office for Students and UK Higher Education funding and regulatory bodies.

What is involved?

You will be asked questions about various aspects of your course, such as teaching, assessment, learning resources and mental wellbeing support.

Why should I take part?

Your feedback matters. The NSS provides you with the opportunity to provide feedback on your student experience.

Your opinions will be used to improve the student experience at UCA. As well as helping to make UCA even better for future students, the NSS results are published on Discover Uni to help prospective students make decisions on what and where to study.

How do I complete the NSS?

The survey officially opens for eligible UCA students on Thursday 1 February 2024 and runs until Tuesday 30 April 2024. Please keep an eye on your UCA email for further information.

When the survey opens, eligible students will receive an email from Ipsos with a personalised link to the survey. Many courses will also be running NSS briefing sessions so you can find out more from your Programme Director.
