The Graduate Professional Development Programme is a 4-week paid placement opportunity that takes place September to October at UCA. We offer a variety of roles you can apply for to explore career possibilities, develop key transferable skills, grow in confidence and build your network.
Having completed your studies at UCA, taking part offers you an opportunity to further enhance your CV and boost your employability.
Each placement is for 20 hours per week with placement opportunities hosted by various UCA departments across our campuses. To give you an insight into just some of the roles that have been available in previous years, you could be working on anything from supporting the Galleries team with curation and research, contributing to Marketing activities or designing and implementing SU events and assisting with creative advertising.
The programme also includes training and support alongside the role, such as guidance for the application process, a careers day to prepare you for placement, networking sessions with other graduates taking part and ongoing support to help you translate your experience into your personal and professional journey and career goals.
Any 2022 UCA graduate that has fully completed their studies at the time of beginning the placement is eligible to apply to the Graduate Professional Development Programme, and we particularly encourage you to apply if you meet any of this criteria. If you do not meet any of the listed criteria please indicate on the form why you feel you would benefit from taking part.
We know that entering the world of work can be competitive and challenging. Your time on the programme will give you the opportunity to establish and develop skills you can take into employment or the entrepreneurial goals that you are pursuing. It is also a great confidence development experience and a tool for exploring possibilities if you’re not yet sure what your career goal is. It is also a great opportunity to experience and contribute to exciting projects at UCA.
Information about the roles available are now live for you to browse via this page. There you will also find the application form and guidance on how to put together a great submission with support from the Careers and Professional Practice team. The closing date for submission of your online application form and CV is 11:59pm on Sunday 31st July 2022.
