- Ensure DSE Self-assessment training and forms are completed by team members (including those working from home). New starters within the first month.
- Resolve any adjustments required. For example, resolve simple adjustments like footstool, document holder, replacement keyboard, broken mouse.
- More complex medical issues that cannot be resolved that affects the staff members to carry out their ability to work, please contact peopleandculture@uca.ac.uk. That may require an Occupational Health referral to be made.

What is DSE?
Display screen equipment (DSE) is a term used for screen based equipment including PC's, laptops, tablets and smartphones. You are a 'DSE user' if you use a screen for an hour or more most days.
Procedure
All DSE users complete the DSE module on Learning Space.
- Complete the DSE Assessment Form
- Send the form to your Line Manager, who will identify if any adjustments need to be made.
- Line Manager to send form to peopleandculture@uca.ac.uk
Review and update form every 3 years or when there has been any significant change eg. equipment, persons health, desk location.

How do I get a free eye test?
peopleandculture@uca.ac.uk will provide a free eye test voucher for Specsavers. This can be requested every 2 years. Where prescription glasses are required specifically and solely for DSE use, you will receive a pair of single vision glasses from the £49 range or a £49 contribution towards another pair.

Do I need to take any actions if I work from home?
Any staff regularly working from home needs to complete the home working self-assessment (People and Culture Policies)
